Belinda studied English Literature at Bristol University and did a short film course at the Royal College of Art, working briefly in the theatre in London before beginning her career in television. She also has an MST (Masters) in Creative Writing from Cambridge University (Wolfson College).

She started out by producing one of the first ever young film-makers' award schemes with her documentary series on Operation Raleigh for BBC 2, and went on to start her own company, Middlemarch Films, working with esteemed directors such as Mike Grigsby, Molly Dineen, Rebecca Frayn and Susanna White on a variety of award winning documentaries for Channel 4, the BBC and ITV.


In 1993 Middlemarch was awarded a Royal Television Society award for a series on Leni Reifenstahl, and the BANFF award for originality for the musical docu-drama with Malcolm McLaren, 'The Ghosts of Oxford Street’ which featured Sinead O'Connor, Tom Jones, The Happy Mondays, Rebel MC, Leigh Bowery, Kirsty MacColl, The Pogues, and the Royal Ballet.

Belinda has produced and executive produced over fifty documentaries for prestigious strands such as The South Bank Show, Cutting Edge, Without Walls, and Modern Times, as well as full length dramas for Channel 4 and BBC2's Screen Two, including ‘A Man You Don’t Meet Everyday’ written by Ronan Bennett. Her series ’Space’ won an International Emmy and an RTS Best Arts Documentary award, and the single documentary she produced featuring Jo Brand, got an unprecedented audience rating for a single documentary on Channel 4 of seven million.

In addition to her musical films, Belinda produced the album 'All This Talk’ for the singer song writer Matt Shepherd and is currently working on a musical which she devised for Playful Productions and Chichester Festival Theatre. She also works as a freelance script consultant.
